We are laughing, but always in a minor key
Some of the characters in this work functioned as ciphers, beyond who they were as people. This opened up a realm of possibility for the viewer to experience and interpret the uncanny function of the work as a whole.
.. notions of “the impossible task” are explored in vignettes and installations throughout the space.

This piece of erotic comedy captures a strong sense of Butoh itself, and at this moment, we find a laugh that is so instinctive, our egotistic exterior cracks.
