Emma Bathgate uses her voice like an instrument - stretching and playing with dynamics and texture. She is a powerhouse singer with a strong stage presence. She leans into the dark edges of bouffant with a playful and light touch. 

Emma is currently in music projects: Lavender vs Rose with Simon Eszeky, improvisational music trio Atonal Bitch: drummer Sam Price & double bassist Kirri Buchler and new music duo BATHHARA  with violinist Steph O'Hara. She has performed with theatre dance companies: ButohOut!2021 & 22, Somebody's Daughter Theatre Company: She Swallowed That Lie 2022, Torque Show's Intimacy 2015-18, worked with director Melinda Hetzel, the Tony Yap Company and Snuff Puppets. Emma continues to run workshops and teach privately singing, voice and deep body awareness with relaxation. 

As a producer Emma's cabaret shows are; The Church of Burt and The Dilapidated Diva (Green Room Award Winner). Prior music projects: Andy Diagram (UK), Shima Trio: concert harpist Natalia Mann/ percussionist Naomi Jean, The Hunters Gate duo with viola di gamba player Min Hunter.  Studying performance art at St Martins UK in parallel Emma joined London’s improvisational music scene 1991-94. She studied with Ukrainian opera teacher Mira Melton (2000-15); Istanbul National Orchestra 2009; Sam Evans - Vocal Bohl 2008; Ustaadma Zila Khan - New Delhi 2011; Afghani Melbourne musician Khalil Gudaz along with Jenny Thirtle and Ria Soemardjo here in Melbourne, Australia.
